In Tribute-1929 Long Beach TEXTURE

Texture:the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or a substance.

1929  Mediterranean multi-family housing with original details.

arched window frame with vintage obscure glass.

dentil molding and heavy oak entry door.

patina-ed brass with lovely barley twist edge detail.

 original hand painted tile.

great scale on this heavily Spanish influenced sconce.

upon entering the front door, the vestibule that houses the mailboxes has texture in its original plaster molding, gorgeous Italianate chandelier and more dark stained oak doors that open onto a pretty courtyard.

this what you see as you look down the long courtyard,
so inviting.Notice the repeating arch from the front, also repeating the arch form in the semi circle steps

 the door to the main hall. the detail and craftsmanship is wonderful, note the carved ivory doorbells to each unit.

more texture in the stucco interior walls seen throughout

wood details consistent throughout, such craftsmanship! Note the repeat of the arch detail on stair risers.

No.10 in brass, small details add up to lots of beauty.

classic fireplace painted with a trendy turquoise.

pretty sconces, heavy metal with so much detail.

 more wood detail and even a built in dresser. original penny round tile in bathroom.

more penny round original tile in the kitchen,even had a farm sink.

Time Will Never Change the Love

Time has changed our secrets
   and the pigtails in our hair;
it has changed the silly arguments
   and the giggles that we shared.
It has changed our childish happiness
   to grown-up make-believe,
and leaving us with little else;
   it has slowly changed our dreams....
Time has come along and changed
   the essence of our world;
then finally and silently,
   it has changed the little girls.
However, having taken away the dreams
   and the simple things we shared before.
Time has led us to the lasting things
   we need each other for...
Memories of moments
   that we shared,
The laughter
   that was somehow always there,
The hidden corners of our lives
   only we will ever know,
And a sister's love that grew but  rarely spoken of.......
Time changes many things
   and some dreams come apart,
but nothing can reach or change
   the love for you that lives within my heart.

I love you and miss you so much

  1. I was just over the moon about this home and then at the bottom realized this had to be your sister's home. Oh Karen, this was such a lovely home. No doubt to such a lovely person.

    Thinking of you.
